King Lodge Brethren: Let me start off with saying it is an honor to be elected to serve as Worshipful Master for the upcoming year. Masonry has meant a lot to me and I am hopeful that I can fulfill those duties to the best of my ability. We are looking forward to implementing some new ideas for a 2008 newsletter and are continuing to keep our website updated, while looking forward to our 3rd Annual King Lodge Golf Tournament in June 2008. We are also trying to get some older members back in the lodge while getting our new members better ready to serve. Masonry has been a great part of this community for over 125 years. I am looking forward to getting our lodge more active in the community and hopefully spending some time getting to know its members. The only way we can make this fraternity grow is to show our pride in masonry. If we enjoy being masons, then we can show that though our life to others? People will start asking “How do I become a mason?” I think that if we truly show that we enjoy Masonry, more people will inquire about it. As Freemasons we are taught those duties we owe to God, our neighbor and ourselves, and to which we all try to live and show to our fellow humans. Let’s not forget our obligations and try to make this community and the world a better place to live by the fruit we bear. In closing, let me invite any of you back to our regular stated meetings, which are held on the second Monday at 7:30. If anyone would like to contact the lodge or myself please feel free to do so at thegoateedone@yahoo.com or the webmaster. Fraternally, Robert E. Smith |
